the citrus family is the most refreshing category in the fragrance world. often described as fresh, light, tangy energizing and crisp, this family generally includes notes such as lemon, bergamot, orange, grapefruit, tangerine, etc.

citrus fragrances have been around for centuries. bergamot, a warm and bright oil derived from the bergamot orange became a widely used note in many fragrance waters in italy during the 1800’s. the infamous ‘perfumed court’ of louis xv incorporated a variety of citrus oils in many fragrances developed during that period which added to its popularity in use.
